Necessity is the mother of all inventions, and the military has confirmed this notion. Their creations have made our lives easy without a doubt. It keeps advancing as they come up with new ideas to serve and protect their citizens from enemies.
They focus not only on ammunition but also on how they can survive on the battlefield, creating suitable items for survival, which has helped the general public. Some of their innovations are listed below.
Internet
Their need to connect a wide range of computers saw them invent the web. It made the military to communicate easily with their comrades in the field. The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) was the brain behind this technology. Today the internet has made life easy to communicate globally. We can do research and development findings through the internet as it offers a platform to get information.
GPS
The soldiers used GPS invention on the battlefield to identify a target, for mapping and tracing plane trajectories. The technology has improved, and it’s used in our daily lives to navigate new locations on our phones.
Duct tape
Duct tape was invented out of necessity to hold war equipment together. Today duct tape comes in different quality strong, adhesive, and medium used for a wide range of functions. It can seal boxes, leaking taps, or even hold together broken items since it’s water-resistant and dust-free.
Drones
Drones were initially to survey the battlefield or areas that were extremely dangerous for soldiers to invade. Today many drones in the air can’t be controlled by the government. They are used in the entertainment industry as aerial cameras for production. They aid in disaster management, research, and rescue operations since they can develop clear images of the situation on the ground without being manned.
Microwave ovens
The soldiers used radar technology to create electromagnetic waves on tiny tins. These waves could heat or cook food as the radiation passed through food particles causing it to heat. Previously microwaves were vast and expensive, but later they have been reduced to fit in our homes. Today almost every household owns a piece, which makes it easy to heat food effortlessly.
Digital cameras
The need to capture high definition images on enemy grounds through satellite cameras led to digital cameras. The digital camera has advanced to a point they can fit in any gadget. Today you can take a picture from digital cameras on your phones.
Power walkers
These are body robots which help soldiers with their movement when tired or burdened by their backpack. They help them to keep up the pace without using more energy, thus avoiding exhaustion while on a mission. Doctors in the medical field can use it to assist stroke patients in gaining their movement again.
Wall climbing commandos
This technology has micro hold fibers, which help soldiers to climb on slippery walls effortlessly. Today, civilians in houses can use micro hold fibers to mount pictures or other items on the wall without any struggle.
